At the heart of Lagos’ Oriental Hotel on October 1st, 2023, La Racheal unveiled its Abeni Collection during the prestigious Green October Event, and what followed was a striking tribute to luxury, grace, and bold Nigerian artistry. Designed by Racheal Ifedolapo Bomodeoku, the collection reveals a vision of sophisticated femininity where dramatic silhouettes and handcrafted detail converge with commanding softness.

Each look in the Abeni Collection embodies quiet strength, designed for the woman who commands attention without ever needing to raise her voice.
The first standout, a merlot-toned, body-contouring gown features an asymmetric ruffle neckline exploding with deep wine tulle, juxtaposed against a sleek, fitted skirt that kisses the floor. The single long sleeve, punctuated by another flourish of tulle at the wrist, adds a layer of haute drama worthy of any gala.

From there, the designer deftly shifts palettes and textures with a second look that marries vibrant volume with structured elegance. A strapless black trumpet gown is topped with tiers of vibrant yellow, orange, and red ruffles, bringing to mind the golden hues of a savannah sunset. The flared hem echoes the top’s movement, uniting texture and tone in a way that feels both opulent and alive.

Bomodeoku’s understanding of balance is further exemplified in the third piece, a refined white sheath with tiered ruffled sleeves, edged in gleaming silver studs.
